Clare Hayes-Hockey

Several years ago I retired from playing hockey to concentrate on coaching. I missed playing a lot so decided I could coach and play!

I decided the way forward was to get fit – but I needed help, so I contacted James and a plan was set to help me achieve my goals.

Off the back of James’ training I was selected for the England O40’s squad who played in the World Cup in Rotterdam in 2014. Subsequently I have played for the England O40’s in a Home Nations and a European Championships.

This year was an important year for me as I was trialling to go up an age category, into the very strong O45’s category.

I am sure that the fitness and conditioning work I did with James made the difference in my new age category trials, I was selected for the for  the England O45’s and the Home Nations.

In April 2016 I went to Canberra, Australia for the World Cup, even though I was an O45. I entered this tournament the fittest I have ever been and this is without a doubt down to James – we came back with a Silver medal!
