Strength and Conditioning Workshops

After leading another enjoyable Strength and Conditioning Workshop for Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) the willing participants of teachers and coaches identified the following drill in particular as a good group conditioning exercise.

Circle Ball:

All participants in a circle (roughly 4m diameter) in a front support/press up position facing inwards.  Pass a ball between participants with the main aim of keeping their bodies as still as possible when lifting their arm to hit the ball

There are many variations but a few to get started:

  • Instead of press up position a crab position.
  • After each pass of the ball change between positions.
  • After each pass run around the circle.
