Kate Reynolds-Hockey

Kate Reynolds is currently a fresher in the University of Loughborough hockey first team.  Kate is a former student at Richard Huish College, Taunton.

Whilst Kate played for Richard Huish College she got selected to play for the British Colleges team 2 years running, becoming the captain in the second year.  In addition she also played for Taunton Vale in the Premier League Division 1 where she was part of the team that got promoted to the National League.

Due to the number of games and training sessions Kate was participating in when in Taunton she struggled with back pain.  We worked on Kate’s flexibility using a combination of static and PNF stretching,  along with self massage using rolling stretches to ease tension.

In addition we did a lot of core stability work to strengthen what was identified as a weak area for Kate.  Using fitballs, medicine balls and a combination of both static and dynamic core exercises Kate worked hard on improving her strength and continues to do so today.

This ambition and drive will hopefully lead Kate to her ultimate goal of playing hockey for Great Britain.
