England Selection for Hayes

Congratulations to Clare Hayes, who after a series of trials since last year has been selected to represent England Hockey in the Over 45s.  She has made the squad of 18  to play in the Home Nations at Southgate Hockey Club in June. In addition to this she will also play in the European Championships in Rotterdam in July.

Clare has worked hard after knee surgery to not only get back to playing hockey, but to get back to the level that she was playing at prior to injury. Following a period of training consisting of strength and mobility, gradually more explosive power and speed exercises have been incorporated. Interval training along with compound exercises have increased specific endurance and her tough mental attitude got her to where she is.
